There is something deep in a man that will not surface if he is confined solely to “man-made” structures. The office, mall or even his own home are all places with walls that in some way, shape, or form contain him.

To walk in fields, crest hills, pause at a prairie sunset—these are great field moments that remind us that we are “alive” and a part of something larger than ourselves. Now picture those same moments in the company of people you do life with—your son or daughter, father or brother, or a close friend at your side—a 12 gauge shotgun on your shoulder, beautiful dogs working the ground in front of you. Then it rises with that distinct cackle, the majestic bird of the western plains, the ring-necked pheasant. There are 10-12 million of them in South Dakota!

The invitation is to get away and focus on your heart and God’s heart toward you. And it is not just for adults; we have found this to be a wonderful Father-Son or Father-Daughter trip as well (youth must be 12 and hunter safety certified). Come join us for a weekend guaranteed to do your heart good. Each year we have been privileged to host an annual retreat/pheasant hunt in South Dakota that has all the above and more.

Whether you’re an old hand at hunting or have never pulled the trigger of a shot gun, this is a great trip. Not only do we hunt for pheasant, we are there to experience more of God as well as each other. You don’t have to speak at all or you may find you can’t stop talking.
